If the creek is flowing, we will see who is flocking to this water source. Along the way, we will discuss how to identify animal signs (footprints, scat, and maybe bones), listen for birdcalls, and appreciate the abundance of desert wildflowers that bloom during wet springs.
Accessibility: This 3.5 mile loop trail is mostly packed dirt and sand. Half of the trail is flat and wide; narrow path, uneven surfaces, and multiple slope changes throughout the other half. Little to no shade on trail. Wheelchair-accessible vault toilets at trailhead. No drinking water available.

Show your love in a meaningful, hands-on way this Valentine’s Day with a guided Ikebana workshop led by Alice Fujita-Schwarz, owner and instructor of BasketBana LLC. $40 per person. Tickets are sold through Alice’s website via BasketBana.
Ikebana—the traditional Japanese art of floral arrangement—is about more than flowers. It’s a practice rooted in balance, intention, and connection to nature. In this workshop, Alice will introduce the history and philosophy behind Ikebana while guiding participants through the creation of a floral arrangement using a heart-shaped basket, designed to speak straight from the heart.
This experience can be shared as a couple or enjoyed solo—perfect for creating a thoughtful, handmade gift for someone special (or for yourself). No prior experience is necessary. Alice’s teaching style is welcoming and intuitive, encouraging creativity while honoring the quiet structure that defines Ikebana.

Alice Fujita-Schwarz is a long-time floral artist and educator whose work blends traditional Japanese techniques with natural, modern expression. Through BasketBana, she creates arrangements that celebrate seasonality, simplicity, and mindful design—inviting people to slow down and connect through flowers.

Sunset Stage Kickoff ft. Black Phillip
We're excited to share that a new performance space is coming to life on our patio this week! It started as an offer: "We'll help you build it!" Then came the napkin sketches and drawings, plans to book the first gig, and we were rolling. With the generous help of our friends Ricky and Chris, they've created a dedicated outdoor space for music and connection---the Sunset Stage---a small but meaningful space to play groovy tunes, shake a boot, and take in the beautiful New Mexico sunsets together.
"I hesitated at first because I didn't think Open Space Brewing could be a 'real' music venue, but then I thought---what makes it real? Friends and musicians building a literal opportunity to elevate voices and create connections---THAT feels real and totally worth it. We may not stay in this location forever, so why not? Build it, do the thing, create something beautiful while you can." -Alexa
And now, it’s time to open it!!! Join us for the very first show on the Sunset Stage, featuring our friends Black Phillip.
